We stayed at the Marriott this spring and really enjoyed this hotel. The pool is great and the there is a beach steps away where the wee ones can play. In addition the buffet bfast was great. Rooms are clean and new. You should request an ocean view or at least a room that doesn't face the highway...we were in an ocean view at no extra cost so of course very happy with that. The room has a little veranda. There are beach volleyball courts and a tiki hut bar at the pool. In addition...they are close to snorkeling boats and beaches...try quicksilver boat loved it and the "mexican&"; restaurant next door to the hotel was not good. The worst food ever. Looking to go back and snorkel right now for one night.

- Showed up and they didn't have the room I booked. My wife and I stayed on separate beds for the night. We spent the night looking at a fence with people walking past our balcony. Call about the room and make sure you are getting what you are booking; although, I won't be booking there again. Ask if it has a view even if it says so in the booking description. - The food was awful and there was no surface in the room for in-room dining. We ate on one of the beds. BTW: The restaurants that they list all share the same kitchen and they all have the same limited menu. - No rental movies - The cleaning woman woke us and then came back twice asking when she could clean our room. She seemed very angry. - After a day of water activities -- 15 miles south of the hotel because the hotel sits on a shallow enclosed bay -- we returned and our stuff was gone. They _upgraded_ the awful room that I didn't book in the first place and the new _noisy_ room that faced a pool where people could look inside of our room. So, we left. I had originally booked a nice water view room with a balcony for my wife that needed a break. - I never complain about hotels: I rarely complain about anything. We packed our stuff and just left. We checked into the Key Largo Grande Hilton. A much better hotel.

The room was beautiful and comfortable with a spectacular view of the bay and beach and sunset. Key Largo itself didn't strike us as a place we care to visit again because if you leave the Marriott resort, there didn't seem to be anything exciting to do. We did the glass bottom boat tour and that was interesting, but the rest of the town didn't offer much. The resort was so nice, if we go again, we probably wouldn't feel the need to leave. The beach area was well taken care of, there was a Tiki bar next to the pool and the restaurant (Gill's?) had great food. Who could ask for more?
