So we came back again (4th or 5th time) and while they're still a little rundown, this is THE cleanest, nicest place to stay in Salinas, particularly for the buck. I'd love to see them upgrade the room. Still...HBO, fast wifi, very spacious and clean rooms, toiletries actually given every day, this is a terrific place and no doubt, we'll be back again when it's time for a visit home.

We've stayed at QI twice before, so we kind of knew what to expect, but we were still surprised to see how run down the rooms are getting. Examples: our room door had to be slammed shut, didn't close and lock behind us, wallpaper was peeling, WiFi was very slow if running, and what we REALLY didn't like was that we couldn't get a printed or written receipt for the cost of the room because we added additional time to our orig. reservation. We would stay here again but only if we had to.
Salinas isn't exactly a mecca for good hotels, so this place is still on our list of places to stay, but it's not at the top anymore although you should know it has the BEST BEDS I'VE EVER SLEPT IN, and that's no lie. It's clean and it's relatively safe, so all told, it's still a bargain. AND you have Margies across the street for the best breakfasts in town.
