We were later than planned getting to Eureka. I called from Ferndale to let them know we were in the area but it would be about 9 PM before we arrived. The front desk ;think he was manager; said & Guess what!; When I answered ;oh, no, what!&; He said we will be waiting for you. And He was - we were checked in within minutes. Breakfast was fresh and enjoyable. Love Manager's sense of humor - overheard how he talked to other clients.

Run down older property. Room was clean and comfortable, unfortunately the floors and walls are not soundproofed, so there is lots of noise from the second floor and highway 101. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was sub-par. We try to locate value hotels, but this area is too expensive compared to other CA locations.

We stayed here before of the location the town of Eureka and we didn't expect much. When we asked the owner how were the room she said big and beautiful, well they were hugh and so beautiful. The service was great and the staff from the front desk to the house cleaning ere friendly. The owners were so nice, we arrived at around 10 at night and she was still so sweet. She even reminded us about the continental breakfast in the morning... The stay was great and we would stay there again in a heartbeat.

We stayed at this hotel for several days. While not deluxe in any way, it was clean and affordable. The shock of our whole trip was on the morning of check out at ten minutes till check out time the manager called our room and said you have ten minutes to get out. I asked if we might please have a later check out and he said, " No, my girls have to clean the room, you have ten minutes. " i went down and paid my bill while my wife scrambled to finish up. we were bring suitcases out when he came and stood at the door with his hands on his hips and said, "I'm going to charge you another 20.00 dollars." He then proceeded to stomp off and was shouting in the parking lot at his wife who was working with the housekeeping staff. I have traveled for 40 years, even out of the country, never have i been treated so poorly. It was truly shocking! It is hard to imagine it was more important to get a room clean than to be kind to customers who had stayed 3 days, and would have stayed again. It was a disappointing ending to what was a wonderful trip. The last place this man needs to be is in hospitality. However, he is the new owner of the hotel, not just the manager, so he is not likely to be replaced. Sadly my worst hotel experience ever, let the buyer beware.
