The location is great, oceanfront rooms and right in the heart of activities in Virginia Beach. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Indoor pool is very small but it was clean. Room smelled like stale smoke but once we aired it out by leaving the sliding door open for a while it was tolerable. No extra pillows were available, they said they ran out. The light in the bathroom was very dim and a bathroom vent/fan would have been helpful when showering. The view and the location to the beach was the best. Overall a very good value for the price of the room.

The air conditioner in the room caught on fire. We stayed in the room the first day & the AC kept turning off & would turn back on after about 15 min. It would only stay on for about 10 min then turn back off. This went on the entire day. The maintenance people came into the room & looked @ the control box on the wall. They just adjusted the temp & left. My family & i left the room for the day & came back, the room smelled like melting plastic...... We couldnt figure out where it was coming from... That nite we went to bed, myself , my bf, & 3 children & about 245am the AC caught on fire in the ceiling.....The front desk clerk moved us to a different room.....and wow imagine that the AC worked..

We were vacationing in Florida and on our way back home decided to stop in Virginia and go to the beach there. We arrived at the beach and booked 2 rooms in the econo lodge the rooms were non smoking and still smelled terrible. My poor sister's allergies kicked in and she was miserable. The following day we decided to stay another day because the beach was just beautiful and we decided to book just one room for one more night so we went to the lobby and the person behind the desk was unfriendly and I had to ask her to repeat herself several times because I could not understand what she was saying and she was getting frustrated. Then the room we ended up with was even worst. The tub was nasty, it even had other people's hair in it. I used the iron to iron out a shirt and it was ruined because the iron leaked dirty water, the air conditioner was leaking onto the bed so I ended up with half a soggy bed and the faucet to the sink was soo loose that I had to hold the base in order to get water. I was afraid of operating it because I thought it woruld break off. They also tell you one rate and when it comes to all the taxes and all the extras it gets costly. I would definitedly not go back there.

We would definitely come back and stay here again (we are a family with two young children) who came on a last minute trip to the beach; we had never been to Virginia Beach before. We parked our car upon arrival in the covered multilevel parking garage (a little tight for large SUVs) and didn't need it again until we checked out. There were several great restaurants within close walking distance as well as beach gear/souvenirs, etc or you could take the convenient and inexpensive trolley and go down to the other end of Atlantic for more restaurants, shopping etc. We felt safe in this location and what a wonderful view; all ocean front with clean groomed sand on the few steps to the beach, lifeguards on duty, close snack stand and drinks, chair/umbrella rental if you needed it. The only down side is there is only one elevator so you'll have to wait a while on busy weekend days or take the stairs and if you came for a swimming pool, this one is very clean but very tiny (max capacity 11). The staff was helpful and friendly and the room was kept clean as we tracked sand in every day. The continental breakfast was very nice and we could grab a bite and head for the beach each morning. The bed did sag in the middle, but was acceptable. The hotel room was very quiet; I never heard any of my neighbors and the hotel was sold out that day so I know it was full. Well worth our money and a refreshing weekend.
