  It was a nice, simple hotel. The furnishings were a little dated, but it was clean and quiet. The breakfast was great. They cooked your eggs to order and offered bacon and sausage.

  I had read the previous reviews before I booked and I was not expecting much. When we got there every body was helpful and polite. They had bree food at night if you bought drinks. There was a free breakfast too. The pool was nice we had a great stay.

  We decided on short notice to stay two nights at this hotel. While I am a frequent traveler around the world it has never happend to me that the room was only made up after 5:00PM. But at this place this happened. Our room was cleaned at 5:45PM precisely - not very efficient and little customer friendly. We were touring the Big Bend all day and returned at 3:30PM. No way to shower before 6:00PM...

  We chose to stay at the Ramada because of its name...and the fact that there is only one other hotel in all of Alpine. Next time I will rent a cottage somewhere. The bed was the most uncomfortable aspect of my trip and I like a good night sleep in order to enjoy my trip anywhere. the pullout bed was even worse, the mattress fell through the frame, the pillows seemed to be made from other old pillows that were stuffed together. The front desk was very unhelpful when I wanted to send out a letter, not even a stamp to be found.
