  I found this hotel a bit disconcerting when I arrived. It was off season in Winslow so I didn't expect the place to be busy, but the location at the far east end of town at the end of a short dead end road and a total of five cars in the lot made it a little freaky. The hotel clerk seemed more interested in watching the TV than working to check me in. This became more important when my credit card was rejected. The clerk handed it back to me with a scornful look and told me it was invalid. I used a different one, but I then went to my room and called the credit card company. They told me no request had come in from that hotel for pre-approval. They told me it would have been approved and suggested the clerk didn't know how to work the credit card machine. The pool was closed for renovations, the ice machine had been removed from the second floor with the hoses dangling form the wall, and the halls seemed a little small. OK, the bed was comfortable, the room was clean, but besides that there was nothing else of value and the price was far too high for not getting anything else.
