Historic with nostalgia everywhere. Spacious rooms, great service, friendly staff. Did not eat there (preferring the food at The Banshee), but would definitely go back if ever my work called me to Scranton again.

Stayed with a friend who ran the marathon. The room was very small, the beds are not great. There is no mirror in the room only bathroom. Attempted a late checkout and was told we needed to check in the AM. We left at 5 am for the marathon bus if they said no then we needed to pack. They gave us 30 minutes. You would expect that since so many people were there for the race there would be some sort of accomidation. The staff was very good or very poor. $* for the Sunday brunch looked good but to much money.

Hotel was billed as a great experience. Anything but. The handles on the door, bathroom fixtures, everything loose...no maintenance...no water pressure...sleep number beds? Couldn't find a comfortable setting. Architecture is A+ outside but not inside. The window for our room was halfway to the ceiling. No way to look out. No mirror to dress with in foyer of room. Folks, do yourself a favor, stay at the Hilton....you'll be more confortable. Otherwise, if you are a train lover, and like stoic and spartan, this is your place. To top all that off, the staff was not very friendly. On a better note, the food in the dining room was excellent and the service there, first class.

We were extremely surprised at this hotel and loved everything about it. We were upgraded to the master suite which was wonderful but every room has a sleep number bed and similar features. The lobby is gorgeous and you feel like you stepped back in time to the lifestyles of the rich and famous of the 1900s. There's original marble walls, tile floors, and every touch/decoration matches the historical preservation of this train station turned hotel. We highly recommend it. The staff were also friendly and always helpful.

I had prepaid the hotel and the desk clerk insisted that it had not been paid. When my husband and I opened our room, it was already occupied. The clerk did provide an upgrade for the inconvenience. The Sunday brunch was wonderful!
