I was going to book through travel agency because of all the good customer comments but wanted to wait until I got to the location. When I got to the desk I saw how nice the place was! I was actually headed for the Anton This is so much better I will be back!!

Though billed as "newly renovated", it was anything but that. No closet or dresser or even a headboard, linoleum needed replacing, twall-mpunted tv was too small to view. We selected it based on travel agency's 3-star rating, but we do not feel it met enough criteria to be more than 2. Oh well, at least it was quiet, and the staff was nice.

Stayed here for one night on our anniversary and had planned on going to the aquarium the following day. I was looking for something cute and cozy, and I only read a few bad reviews about this place, and I should have noticed when someone mentioned that this was not a place for a romantic getaway. I upgraded our room to a deluxe King instead of two queens, which cost about $* more. When we arrived we noticed people were out by the pool having a great time, which we were hungry and didn't have time to get to check it out for ourselves. The place is right down the street from great restaurants and shops. When we got back from dinner, we realized that our TV was a tiny 15 inch old tube TV with quite a few channels but not a good picture. The decor was nice and modern, our room was clean, but not entirely spacious. The bed was very hard to sit and sleep on and the pillows were thin. I had a really hard time falling asleep on the hard bed and kept messing with the pillows. The light outside of our room was very bright, as the curtains were not the black out type. My husband and I both had a horrible night's rest. Our neighbors kept slamming their door all night (at 3 am they were outside talking). The shower was nice, except the towels were really thin. There is no coffeemaker in the room, but there was a small fridge where we kept water. I was told there was a continental breakfast, but it was just half muffins and coffee with orange juice. We ended up eating breakfast just down the road and had omlettes and bacon.

Rooms were clean; everything worked - inside and out - pool, spa, etc.; staff were very accommadating - we requested a card table and chairs, which they brought to our room so we could play cards/games with our friends who were traveling with us on this great weekend get-away. Would saty here again - very good value for the money.

My son ended up getting sick the 2nd day we were there. His favorite blanket was soiled. Good thing my husband speaks spanish, he was able to ask house keeping if they could wash his blanket. The head lady had no problem and said she'd leave it in our room. Off we went to the aquarium when my son got sick again!!! Now his other blanket, clothes, car seat were hit. We drove back to our room to change him and clean up the car seat. I left the soiled items by the door on top of our ice chest. I was too tired to have to deal with it. When we went back to our room, dreading the smell and extra work of cleaning the dirty clothes, to our surprise the clothes/blanket were taken. The portable crib had a sheet in it, and the 1st soiled blanket was nicely folded on the night stand. I couldn't believe how sweet this lady was. My husband hunted her down to thank her and give her a little tip for the inconvenience. She definitly went beyond the call of duty plus, she came by personally to deliver the clean items. =) Unfortunately, our room wasn't as great as the staff. The door had a huge gap at the top of it and we froze the 1st nite. The swimming pool wasn't heated, and you'd think because of the cold weather year round that it would be heated. I did appreciate the coffee/muffin complimentary breakfast. =)
