If you go to this hotel expecting 3 - 5 star accommodations then you are going to be sorely disappointed. This hotel offers everything the weary traveler needs. The shower and sinked both ran hot water, the linens were clean, and the HVAC system worked flawlessly. The beds were comfortable and the wireless internet got the job done. For $ dollars a night this is a great deal. The exterior of the hotel is run down and some of the fixtures and the carpeting could use an updating; however, I have stayed in Hampton Inns that were worse than this hotel in terms of quality and comfort and this hotel makes no false advertisements as to what it is - an efficiency hotel that lacks the bells and whistles and amenities of other hotels but compensates with a great price. We attended the NASCAR race in June 2009 and stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. This hotel is only 8 miles from the Scranton Steam Train Historical Site and only 25 miles from the Pocono International Raceway. Overall this hotel is an excellent value as long as your expectations are not too high.

The manager refused to take our traveler's coupon. When I called help desk to complain the woman at the counter lied to the person on the 800#. She said the manager would be in the following day. We spoke to the same woman as the night before. We got nowhere. Toilet was dirty upon arrival. Breakfast was not, super deluxe, it was mediocre at best. The orange juice was watered down. Overall appearance inside and outside was run down.

We stayed one night as a getaway for our anniversary. The staff to begin with cannot be understood; they are Indian and their English is horrible. And don't expect friendly; they never smile at all let alone try to act hospitable. The hallways smell bad and the carpeting is ripping in places especially on the steps. It was not at all what it claimed to be. Staff claims they have remodeled but it looks like they have destroyed. Our bathroom had a dirty washcloth and hand towel in the ice bucket. There was mold and soap scum on the tiles in the shower/bathtub and the tub does not drain right. The vent fan does not work in the bathroom. Towels and washcloths are stained though clean, and one of the towels needs to be retired as a rag it was so thin. It was quiet at night and bed seemed okay mattress wise and was clean as far as we could tell; the lighting isn't real good either. Their site states they have balconies but they've taken out the patio doors to the balconies and put in windows which are made so you can't even open that up and there was garbage out on the balcony. Requested refrigerator as I am diabetic on insulin; wanted to charge us $10 more per night so we didn't get one. Didn't ask for more towels; they probably charge for extra towels also. Overall a miserable experience.
One tip: Try Knights Inn across the road from this place; it's clean, a little more money, and better amenities. -
Not a good place to stay
