Designed in classic Mexican hacienda style, this former finishing school for girls attracted stars like Clark Gable, Katharine Hepburn, and Spencer Tracy when it was converted to a guest ranch during World War II. The Hacienda, or Inn of the Sun, has been lovingly and authentically restored. The superb Grill at Hacienda del Sol is part of the resort. Other amenities include a swimming pool and Jacuzzi, 24-hour front desk, laundry service, and meeting rooms.
Accommodations range from courtyard guestrooms to private casitas, including Casita Grande, legend to be Tracy and Hepburns secret hide-a-way. Each one of the thirty guestrooms has been lovingly restored and uniquely decorated by award winning designer Barbara Eckrote. Some of the one- and two-bedroom casitas have fireplaces and private porches, where one can watch the sun set over the Tucson Mountains. Each has a queen bed, chest of drawers, two nightstands, a chair, and an armoire that hides the TV and mini refrigerator.
