At this place a non-oceanfront room is located in an old fashioned three story walkup across the street from the hotel with the Atlantic Ave. address. Our poorly-soundproofed room was located above a souvenir shop. The room was clean and that's about the only positive thing I can say.

Nice - Would Stay Again

If you are looking for luxury, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay then go for it. We arrived at 2pm and our room was ready, we were able to put our bags in the room and enjoy the beach for a few hours. The hotel has a great view of the beach and is located close to all the shops, restaurants and night time entertainment. In the mornings, make sure to wake up early and enjoy the most unbelieveable sunrise. The staff was not out of their way nice nor were they rude, they were a bit indifferent honestly. The beds were not the most comfortable. I asked one of the cleaning ladies for toilet paper as I walked out of my room one morning and when I returned later on that day she had not left any. I went downstairs and asked for some at the front desk and the lady there asked me "DO YOU ABSOLUTLEY NEED IT?" The indoor pool was filthy - we are not pool people but am adding this comment for those who enjoy a dip in the pool. All in all, it was clean and the location was wonderful and we would stay again.

The first room that was assigned to me was depths of despair. The bath tub had grind in down that had build up and looked like it had not been cleaned with Comet and/or any of other source of cleaning agent in months. The shower curtain had not been changed which had soap scum that was 3/4 inch thick at the bottom and had a foul smell. The mirror directly in front of the face bowl had not been properly cleaned. You could see smudged markings throughout the entire mirror. To top things off there were specks of sand and dirt on the bathroom floor that you could feel under your shoes when walking. The floor probably hadn't been washed since the summer kick off which is normally Memorial weekend which is the last Monday in May. I was very disappointed since I had stayed at another Best Western in Virginia Beach before. The Customer Services Attendant did provide me with another room which was a little better. The bath tub was clean; however the shower curtain had a small amount of soap scum. The bathroom floor was dirty in this room as well, with sand and ground in dirt. I think that the staff should clean the floors everyday with a disinfected and/or sanitizing agent. This will help to prevent any foot problems for people who would like to walk around without there shoes on. The price is fine if you are on a budget, however I will never stay again in a Best Western nor would I recommend it to any of my family and/or friends.
