I have stayed at the Double Eagle numerous times. It is my favorite place to vacation, I try to make it at least once a year. It is located in some of the most beautiful country in the world, it is like heaven on earth. The resort is also just as beautiful in itself. The antique/goldrush theme is so unique and you will always find something new and interesting everywhere you look. The resort is also great for activities. In the summer, there is fishing available on the resort property, where they stock some of the biggest fish I have ever seen. You can also go on some of the most amazing and beautiful hikes. In winter, there is skiing and snowboarding available right down the street. The food at the restaurant is amazing and unique to the area. The staff is so helpful and really work hard to make sure you are satisfied in every way possible. If you are looking for a great place to vacation this year, look no further than the Double Eagle Resort. I guarantee you will have the best vacation you have ever had and fall in love with the resort just as I have. So do yourself a favor and book the vacation and maybe a massage, relax, and have a great time!

I've been vacationing the June Lake Loop Since the 1960's and have stayed at most of the Loop resorts and motels. I've never experienced any problems with any of them. They are what they are and they are designed for outdoor recreation and entertainment not for lounging throughout the day and night basting in extreme comfort or luxury. If one thinks they are over priced then perhaps one ought to consider staying in the very accommodating US Forest Service camp grounds. There is only restaurants for nightly entertainment which is in itself good, and I have never had a bad meal yet....it's all good. The overall best resort is the Double Eagle. It has it all. All inclusive in a great location with superior ambiance. This is as luxurious as it gets for the June Lake Loop. Nothing betters this resort. The rooms, views, services, restaurant & pub, pool, messages, exercise room, trout pond, and all that is of this well thought out resort is the best in the Loop. One will definitely be soaring with the Eagles when staying here. I think it's great!!! A bit pricey but great.

My family and I spent the july 4 holiday at June Lke, near Mammoth, ca. the resort is surrounded by beautiful and majestic wilderness. We feel rejuvenated. However, customer service at the spa left much to be desired. My son sat at the coffee fountain for a lengthy span of time without being served until my daughter addressed the lack of service. The excuses offered were "" I didn't know he was waiting for coffee,"" ""There are only too blenders."" I don't expect that my family be ""liked,"" but I do expect adequate customer service for my money. I will neither patronize or recommend the Doubleeagle Resort to anyone.

  • One of the better spas I've visited in the world

I'm not sure what resort the other reviewer was visiting to complain about cleanliness and service but he must have been there the day of the ""once in a hundred year dust storm"" to make such a fuss, because this place is impeccably clean and well maintained. I have traveled the world and always make a point to visit a spa in a nice location. The Double Eagle Spa in June Lake California is was of the cleanest, expertly maintained, nicest locations (breath taking scenery), well appointed facilities (steam, whirlpool, pool, massage room, fitness equipment etc) and kind/sincere staff one could ever expect from a world class spa. The decor is reflective of the California Gold Rush days and is designed throughout the facility using what appears to be the real tools, wagons, explosive equipment used in the gold mines. Walking through is like a nice relaxing museum tour as a bonus to the spas nice facilities and very relaxing environment!! On all 5 of my visits this week in January 2009, the evening attendant X, was in and out of the facilities making sure everything was clean, restocked and in perfect order for the perfect relaxing experience. Finding anything to complain about or not to love about my visits to The Double Eagle Spa in June Lake would be a challenge. Life is way to short to to whine and complain ""without fact"". One fact is for sure, this is a fine spotless spa and if relaxation, pampering, spa treatments and maybe a workout are what you seek to compliment your visit to June Lake, The Double Eagle Spa will not disappoint.

Dirty, cabins had spider webbs everywhere. Pool was dirty and inside spa needed repairs and was very dirty. I love the location and what it use to have. It has gone down hill. You pay top price. They need a overhaul of cleaning up and painting. I sent them a letter on this and have never heard from them. All I ask is clean it up and wash the windows and screens and repair the spa room. You clean up and I will be back. Reno, Nv
