very disappointed

I have stayed at Marriotts all over the country. This one didn't come close to the comfort of the others, and the price was way too high! Many problems throughout our 2 night stay - no blanket on the bed, water leaking through ceiling, telephone not working. They gave us a small credit for our ""inconvenience"" but our stay was still resort priced - we spent $*for 2 nights.

Little things added up to just an okay

The good: Staff was friendly. Room layout was superior. (We had a two full bed suite with kitchenette and oceanview and balcony.) The not good: "Kitchenette" is an over statement. It was a small microwave with a bar sink and a mini fridge. There was space to put away some groceries. There were no utensils, plates, can opener, wine bottle opener, kitchen towels or kitchen wash cloth. The hotel did not have a can opener that they were willing to loan. :( Both treadmills were out of order during our entire stay. This left only an exercise bike and a stair stepper. Pool hours were listed as 7A - 10P but the pool was closed for a half hour to an hour and a half each day during our stay. The time varied so you could not plan on the pool being open at any point. Call down ahead to see if you won the pool lotto before you get everyone ready to go. Also the pool is smaller than it looks in the phots. Breakfast was the same everyday. Cereal, carbs, juice, eggs patty things and sausage. They ran out of stuff on a routine basis and items took forever to replace. The line was long and fustrating and there was not enough seating. The washing machine was out of order while we were there. When it quit mid cycle I lost my coins and had wet soapy clothes to deal with! When I reported it the staff was aware of the problem but there was no sign posted. Would I return? Maybe but only because I liked the room layout and with our family of 6 we need lots of space.

Was our 25th anniversary. Mentioned it to the desk clerk and she immediately made up a goodie bag for us to bring up to our room. Very courteous staff and helpful. Room was upgraded to suite (this was before she knew it was our 25th). Nice balcony overlooking ocean and boardwalk. Would go back there again. Pricey, but it's on the ocean so have to expect it!
