    I stayed there because of the price. I was very happy to pay less than most ot the hotels in the area. Who wouldn't? I was extremely surprised with the outstanding customer service and the friendliness of the staff. The room was the cleanest I had stayed in, in a long time. The food on the premises was excellent, dinner and breakfast. The owner was a wealth of information concerning places to visit or in our case ride our motorcycle. Will definitely stay there again.

    Wonderland Inn is changing its name with new owners. Maybe the new owners will make improvements. The new name has "Sandstone" in it. My Garmin GPS directions didn't find Wonderland even with the address. It was off by about 1/4 a mile, but since Torrey is so small that wasn't a problem. This hotel is dated - 2-story exterior motor lodge seems like a time warp to the1970's (the doors use a house key with a plastic return postage paid tag) although the shower/tub was a modern fiberglass unit. Fortunately the bath was clean. We nearly died of air freshener overdose upon opening the room. Turning on the A/C it became clear why housekeeping used so much air freshener. The A/C reaked of mold. The place was booked solid so we suffered without A/C and opened the door & window. A card listed about 20 available cable TV stations, but only half of them worked. There was just one ice machine and it was outside another building which was a 2-3 minute walk each way. When I went to check out there was nobody at the desk to express my complaints in person. Our breakfast waitress said to just leave the key at the desk. She was a friendly and responsive waitress. The food was nothing special but it was better than the room and the dinner the previous night.
