If you want fancy this is not for you, but if you wanted fancy you probably wouldn't be in Zion hiking trails. This place is clean, well maintained and comfortable. The restraunt, and coffee shop shop are above average in quality. The pool area is always clean, and the view out at poolside is spectacular. There is also a hot tub poolside. A great way to take the aches out of your hiking trail whithered body. The beds were very comfortable with more pillows than even my wife can hoard. The staff was fantastic, very friendly, helpful with info on the park. I don't know how they would deal with any problems as we had none. very convenient to the park, shuttle buses pick you up out front and return you there. If you plan to drive yourself throuh the park, you are only one mile from the entrance. All things considered this is one of the best stays of our travels. If you are visiting Zion National Park you will be pleased staying here.

After spending a night in Hurricane we wanted to be in Springdale which is closer to Zion. We must have stopped at 6 different places before we found the Pioneer Lodge. We were very pleased to find a newly renovated room with pillow top beds and down comforters. Not to mention the beautiful log furniture. We ate at their resturant which had really great food and then stopped at their coffee shop (everything imaginable) before heading to Zion which in just 10 minutes up the road. After a long day of riding motorcycle we were a little tired and sore. We deceided to check out the pool and to our surprise found it was backed up to the mountains with virtually unobstrucked views. Not to mention it was spotless, both the pool and the hot tub. Before leaving the next morning we had the pleasure of meeting two of the owners who are some of the nicest people you could ever run into. They told us a bit of history of the hotel as well as a nice motorcycle route for the ride home. They also gave us a little tour of the banquet room which can be used for meetings, weddings, and birthday parties. Our standard room was a 10, I can only imagine what the suites look like. The best part of it all is the Pioneer lodge is walking distance to great shopping, and resturants.
