This motel has definitely been around for awhile (as stated 1970). Basically, you are paying for location which is right across the street from the beach and convenient to many resteraunts and other activities. Definitely plenty of room with kitchenette and seperate bedroom. Bed was comfortable. All appliances were functional. TV in bedroom as well as "living room". Staff was very courteous and friendly. If you are trying to get by on minimum cost, there is nothing wrong with this motel except it's age. Naturally, if one can afford the extra cost, staying on the beach would be much better. Had no problem with parking but may be different during peak season. Only real complaint I had was the AC had been secured for the "off" season. Fortunately, the nights were cool and the days weren't bad. I definitely would stay here again. Make sure you bring your own shampoo.

We had a suite with a kitchenette that included a microwave and refrigerator. If you are planning on saving costs by cooking or eating in the room, it is adequate. My complaints are that there was mold on the ceiling over the shower and the carpet did not feel clean. The hotel could certainly stand some renovation. Our second day at the hotel we happened to be in the room when the maid service came to clean. They were in and out in less than 15 minutes and when I went into the bathroom there was still sand in the tub. They obviously had not cleaned the tub. Secondly, my grandaughter forgot and left money on her dresser and it was stolen. I reported this to the front desk when I checked out. When I go back to Virginia Beach, I will most likely pay more for a better room and cleaning service. The front desk staff were very friendly, but I did not receive any feedback from the hotel on my complaints of the mold and the theft.

I stayed here last year. It was mine and my daughter's first beach trip. The location to the beach..AWESOME! The room itself could stand to be remodeled and they need a better cleaning crew. The price was the cheapest that I could find. I think that for what I paid for, everything could have been better. I was disappointed in the ""Continental Breakfast""..danishes in packages. But because it was so close to the beach and all the stores, I would stay there again. I would request extra sheets and towels before arriving. The mattresses are old and tired and so was the sofa bed. Overall, we just needed a place to lay our heads at night, because we shopped, ate and hung out at the beach and on the boardwalk until the wee hours of the morning. And the staff was very nice and helpful.

The room was free of debris, and priced great. However, the beds are incredibly cheap and worn out. ALSO, as soon as you lay down in bed you'll start to SMELL something like a build-up of years worth of dust in the corners of the room . The last time I smelled something like that was in a home that hadn't been lived in for years. It's obvious housekeeping does little - if anything except pick up debris and make the beds. P.S. bring your own towels and hair care products.
