Nice setting, but the room was not worth the money. The room itself was dirty, the rug was filthy. The maidservice was terrible, barely made the bed and didn't clean the room, left no towels, did not replenish soaps or coffee. The front dest was abrupt and did not explain any amenities, if there were any. This was a special occasion for my husbands birthday. I was very disappointed and would not stay here again.

Referred to this hotel by a woman at Big Bear Diner (a must try dining establishment in Mt. Shasta). Lovely new lobby and offered AAA discount up front. But for * the king room was tiny and the bathroom even smaller. TV was a very small older set, not plasma as indicated. Bed was very comfortable but the floor squeeked every step we took, glad we were on the upper level. Wine and cheese was ok although nothing fancy. Breakfast across the street was a major disappointment but if you aren't looking for fancy or big it would be OK (all cold items). Nice but if you only need a place to sleep, it was spendy.

The hotel has improved quite a bit since new owners have taken over. Doing alot of work, but still need to do quite a bit more. Room was way too much money for the quality of the room. Bathroom very dark and paint coming off. Room was very small for the price. No place to sit except on the beds. Door would not shut unless you leaned very hard against it. Had to walk across street to sister hotel to get breakfast. Food was just OK. Would be a good value at a lower price!!

The exterior of this lodge may look a bit outdated but the rooms have been nicely updated with great beds and big flat panel TV's, at least in our room which was one of those with a kitchen. Having stayed in 3 star hotels throughout Northern CA for two weeks, this place was the perfect end to our vacation: spacious and quiet with a great staff and very nice breakfast at the Strawberry Inn across the street, which is of the same owner ( and equally nice). If you consider what you get in CA at a Best Western for the same price, this place far exceeds the sterile environment of franchise hotels and offers a comfortable alternative. I didn't see anything better in Mt. Shasta. And if you are looking for the best whitewater rafting in CA, the Upper Klamath will knock your socks off, and jar a few other things. Living Waters Rafting will get you a 25% discount at this hotel and the ride of your life! Tell 'em Jim from Iowa City sent ya.

Checked in with an indication wine and cheese would be served in the lounge...didn't happen. It was indicated a cold and hot cereal breakfast would be served in the lounge in the morning...waited until 7:15 and departed as no indication that anyone was setting up any kind of breakfast in the closed lounge area.. Rooms were nicely furnished but short of a hair dryer and any light bulb brighter then 25 w.
