The Yosemite View Lodge is just outside the boundary of Yosemite National Park, about 20 minutes from the sights of the Yosemite Valley. It backs up to the white water of the Merced River; most of the rooms appear to have a balcony or terrace overlooking the river. Our room was spacious, well maintained and well furnished, including a spa and housekeeping facilities. There is a small store and an adequate restaurant. All in all, an excellent base for a Yosemite vacation.

Great location, clean room with large baths. May want to bring an alarm clock as there was not one in our room. Only complaint is we called and ask for a wake up call for the next morning. Never got it. We were with a group and luckly we woke up on our own. Merced River runs behind the hotel and it is so pretty and you can open your window and hear the river-nice! Has a pool, 2 resturants. The pizza place was Ok, needed to have more on their salad bar. The other resturant had a very good breakfast bar. Would stay again.

My family and I were there first weekend in March09 for a wedding in the Park. Best time to be there since the crowds were thinner. Weather was great. Roads were dry but snow on the ground. Not to cold even for outside wedding..... Motel is just right outside of west entrance to Yosemite Park. Takes 30 minutes to drive from Yosemite Village since you are driving slow because roads are whindy but so pretty. Clean. Rooms good size. Bathroom counter very long. Window in bathroom. Beds just Ok. Had small fidge and two burner stove. Place was quite. Decor looked like it had been remodeled in the past year or two but still had a slight musty oder. Air conditioning / Heater was had a remote an very confusing to work. After 20 minutes I figured it out. My parents in the other room had to call the front desk to figure out how to work it. Dad used to work in the AC business. River Merced is beautiful but rooms with a view are more pricey. The regular restaurant closed during slow season. But the pizza place was open. Only ate there for breakfast. Eggs pancakes hash browns fruit. Not fancy at all. Tasted just fine. There is nothing else around. You are out in the sticks remember. Front desk has store for large assortment of TSHIRTS and the sort. Would stay again for price it was very reasonable compared to other choices in the park. Would have considered the place expensive for what you got if in a city but since it is next door to a national monument Half Dome and El Capitan it was a great vaule.
