The Laramie River Dude Ranch sits astride the rushing waters of the Big Laramie River in the Rocky Mountains of northern Colorado. Surrounded by working cattle and bison ranches and national forest, this historic property provides access to thousands of acres of spectacular terrain for horseback riding, fly fishing, and hiking.
With a typical capacity of twenty-five guests, we're small enough to give the personal attention you deserve. We'll select a horse to match your personality and experience. Our wranglers lead small groups of riders for morning, afternoon, and all-day rides across a tremendous variety of terrain. Instructional rides are available and guests are welcome to join the wranglers to groom and saddle their own horses.
And for those who would like to try their hand at working cattle, we have a lively team penning activity that is fun for all. We round up our steers, work them in the arena, and then drive them back to pasture for the night. It's a great opportunity to improve your riding skills while having lots of fun.
Other activities include stimulating walks and hikes, tubing down the river, learning to swing a rope, visiting the animals in our petting zoo, volleyball and horseshoes.
In the evenings guests can enjoy guitar music, cowboy poetry, western dancing, or late night strolls to gaze at the stars.
Outdoor activities and fresh mountain air create healthy appetites. Whether it is on the trail or back at the ranch, meals are an event at the Laramie River Ranch. Warm homemade breads and desserts, fresh salads, fruits and vegetables, as well as delicious entrees keep guests coming back for more. Vegetarian alternatives are always available and special diets are cheerfully accommodated. In keeping with informal western tradition, meals are served family style. The Laramie River Ranch prides itself on providing outstanding vacations for its guests. The ranch is located 30 miles SW of Laramie, WY and 3 hours north of Denver.
