You?ll find the UXU Ranch just off what Teddy Roosevelt, called the most scenic 52 miles in the United States. The Ranch itself is mountain meadow, soaring pines and tumbling river, set within the boundary of the Shoshone National Forest, 17 miles from the Yellowstone National Park. Buffalo, deer, elk, bear, wolves, marmots, eagles, big horn sheep and mountain goats out number the people once you are off of the road. With fifty head of trail horses at the Ranch, you will be able to experience the splendor of the mountain ridges and back country trails that few people have experienced. The Madison, The Yellowstone and The Firehole are all hallowed names to those who fish for trout, and all within easy distance of the UXU Ranch. Our resident fishing guide would be more than happy to take you to his favorite holes as well as provide instruction. The Ranch includes ten guest cabins ranging from one to three bedrooms and has a total capacity of 35 people. Allowing guests to inter-mingle and get to know one other during the week long stay. Many of our guest cabins come with fireplaces or wood burning stoves, which tend to make them a little bit romantic, and they all have nice sitting porches with custom made chairs for the Ranch. Some have custom made furniture and all have been appointed with down comforters, bath robes, hand-made soaps and shampoos. A week at the Ranch includes three gourmet meals/day, beautiful mountain horseback riding, fishing on the Shoshone River, mountain bikes, hiking, trip to Yellowstone, a wild horse tour, a trip to the Cody night rodeo, children?s activities, hot tub, sweat lodge, cowboy entertainment by a singer and a poet. The ranch is open May 1 ? Oct 1. Sunday arrivals only. A six night minimum stay is required with a Saturday check-out.
